Here’s a quick introduction to Earl Grey tea in three aspects:

1. Origin: Earl Grey tea was invented by the British and popularized by Twinings Tea in 1831. It’s named after Charles Grey, the 2nd Earl Grey of England, from the 19th century. Initially, the base tea used was Chinese Keemun tea, and it was blended to create the distinct flavor.
2. Ingredients: Earl Grey is a blend of black tea with citrusy bergamot essential oil. Legend has it that British water quality was quite hard, causing their black tea to be bitter and astringent. To balance the taste, a merchant added bergamot essence to the tea, resulting in the now-famous Earl Grey flavor.
3. Choosing Earl Grey: It’s important to select Earl Grey made with natural bergamot essence for the best taste. The quality of the bergamot essence makes a significant difference. Choose Earl Grey with natural oils, not synthetic flavors.

Brewing Methods:

1. For regular Earl Grey Tea:
   Add 5g of Earl Grey tea leaves to 500ml of boiling water, steep for 5 minutes. Remove the leaves and enjoy the tea.

   Add 5g of tea leaves to 350ml of boiling water, steep for 5 minutes. After steeping, strain the leaves and add 100ml of milk. Stir and enjoy!
